Many of us are enjoying most of our meals at home these days, and with that change comes the challenge of figuring out what we want to cook and eat with our families. This new series we’re calling “Oakmont Cravings” will share with you some of our resident’s recommendations for delicious easy-to-prepare homecooked meals that will bring your family comfort during these uncertain times.
Today’s Oakmont Cravings recipe is brought to us by Frank – a resident of Oakmont Parkway. Frank is quite the cook and has many great recipes to share.
1 large cabbage (or two small cabbages)
1 pound of ground pork
1/2 pound of ground beef (not lean)
1 large onion
2 cans of Campbell’s tomato soup
- 1 cup of rice
- Boil rice until tender and drain
- Chop onion, pepper, and combine with meat. Season well.
- Wrap tightly in cabbages and place in a dutch oven or oven-safe pot
- Cover with tomato soup and cook at 350 for 1 and 1/2 hours
- Enjoy with your family
