As a Michigan-based, family-owned company, Oakmont takes an active role in our communities as well as supporting local causes and various charitable organizations.

Oakmont’s Fantastic Fathers: Max N. – Oakmont Northville

For the days leading up to Father’s Day, we’ve asked our residents and families to share stories, pictures, and favorite memories of their dads, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers who live in our communities. We’ll be sharing them here on our website and on our social media channels in a series we’re calling: Oakmont’s Fantastic Fathers!

In honor of their beloved father/grandfather Max, who lives at Oakmont Northville, Steve shared with us a very special PowerPoint presentation:

David and Rick wrote in to wish his father Ara, a resident of Oakmont Northville, a very happy Father’s Day and to share some wonderful memories of an incredible man:

On behalf of David & Rick K., our spouses and our families we would like to wish our Father Ara K. a Happy Fathers Day.

We couldn’t ask for a better Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He always put his family’s needs ahead of his own. He led by example and raised us to be the same with our children and grandchildren.

Our father was born July 27, 1926 in Detroit Michigan. He served our country in the Army during WW2. After a brief stint working for General Motors he opened a Northlawn Cleaners in the City of Detroit. That is where he worked 70+ hours a week to support our family until selling the business and retiring.

Here are the reasons we love our Dad. There are 2 different sets. 1) Grandkids; 2) Kids.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad!

From the grandkids (Adriana, Samantha & Mihio):

We love our Lolo (grandfather) because

· He give us big hugs and kisses,

· He loves to read to us,

· He loves to laugh with us and tell us jokes and

· He likes to play games with us.

We love you Lolo. We miss you!!

From the kids (Lynette, Michele, Leonard, Sam & Minh):

We love our Tatay (Dad) because

· He always gave us good advice

· He is a great role model

· He made sure we were loved and taken care of

· He taught us to love and pray to God

· He taught us the importance of being kind and working hard

Happy Father’s Day.

Daughters Cathie and Colleen wrote in to wish their Dad, James R. from Oakmont Sterling, a very happy Father’s Day!

Colleen wrote:

Dad, Jim R, always loved family gatherings and he especially loved to laugh. He taught all his kids to play games for fun, not necessarily to win. He has always loved to pull pranks, have water fights and look for the fun in life! I love you dad and I also love to laugh!

Thank you for teaching me the important things in life, such as, love, laughter and filling my life with family and friends.

Happy Father’s Day Dad!!! We love you!

Dan wrote in to tell us all about his father, Jim, a resident of Oakmont Sterling, who was always home at 5 pm to have dinner with his family:

Dan wrote:

Dad worked very hard to support 5 children but he was home every day by 5 o’clock so that we could all sit down to have dinner together. That’s pretty rare today. He and Mom also loved to come out to out small farm and help us with whatever we were working on. On a rare occasion he would even go for a ride on one of the horses! We can’t wait to get him back out to the farm soon.

We love you Dad!
