Family Letter: Michele R. – Oakmont Sterling

Over the holiday season, many residents brought their families and friends to our communities for parties, get-togethers, and special visits. Being surrounded by such warmth and love made it a wonderful time of year for our seniors and staff.

We were so proud to receive the below letter from Michele R., whose grandparents call Oakmont Sterling home, and we wanted to share her touching words with you. We are so grateful for her kindness and beautifully crafted thoughts.

To everyone at Oakmont,

It was so great meeting you over Thanksgiving week/weekend. It was my first time home since my grandparents (Rita and Joe) moved in, and I was so excited to see their new place. I think they were also happy to show it off to all the grandkids.

Thank you for everything you do. I’m very thankful my grandparents are surrounded by the kindest people with the most generous and big hearts. While I didn’t meet everyone, those I did get to meet were so friendly, and it’s easy to see why my grandparents are so happy.

My grandparents mean the world to me and there is nothing better than seeing them happily adjusting to their new home. I’m looking forward to seeing you all over the holidays, and of course every time I’m home.

Thank you again for all you do! Please share this note of thanks if possible with people who work at Oakmont.

Sincerely,

Michele

The Staff and Residents of Oakmont Manor Make a Holiday Miracle for TCCHS Students

In honor of the holiday season, we’d like to take just a moment to celebrate and honor the staff and residents of Oakmont Manor for their generosity, giving spirit, and caring hearts.

A few weeks ago, when it became known that two brothers from Troy College and Career High School were in urgent need of some everyday living essentials for their new apartment, the staff and residents of Oakmont Manor didn’t hesitate.

Instantly mobilizing with a mix of lightly used donations, new purchases, and more, our Executive Director Luisa, Assistant Director Mary, Activity Director Janet, and others coordinated a massive effort of giving that resulted in essentials like tables and chairs, lamps, microwaves, cleaning supplies, dishes, a tv, a couch, blankets, towels, dishware, and more all helping turn the brothers’ new apartment into a warm and comfortable home. Our staff went even further above and beyond to help facilitate the brothers’ move into their new place.

This incredible story is yet another chapter in the ongoing and fruitful relationship between the students at Troy College and Career High School and the residents and staff of Oakmont Manor. We couldn’t be prouder of how our staff and residents exemplify the mission of Oakmont Senior Communities and Oakmont Cares, and we wish all involved a very Merry Christmas, the happiest of holidays, and a joyous new year! Great work, all!

Santa Visits Oakmont Sterling

Each year, old Saint Nick takes some time from his busy holiday schedule to visit our residents and their families at Oakmont Sterling. His visit is always the highlight of their annual holiday party which brings families together for delicious homemade cuisine, holiday entertainment, special goodies for the kids, and more!

This year, Santa heard wonderful wishes from many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and promised a merry holiday season for all. Thanks for visiting, Santa!

Resident Letter: Shirley S.

Each and every day, our staff works hard to make sure life at every Oakmont Community is full of joy and happiness. That’s why we are so thrilled when we receive positive feedback from our residents and their families about their experiences with us.

Below is a letter we recently received at our corporate office from Shirly, a resident of Oakmont Sterling, who shared her thoughts about our Activity Assistant Debby. We are honored to share them with you:

To Whom It May Concern:

I have been here at Oakmont Sterling for almost 4 months and I want to tell you about one of your very best employees. Her name is “Debby” and it is very difficult for me to tell you what her job is because she seems like she does everything. She helps everyone and no job is too difficult.

I wanted to make you aware of her abilities and credentials.

Sincerely, Shirley S.
