New research published just this week shows that the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine protects those who have received it against some of the most severe outcomes of several of the new virus variants currently circling the globe. Specifically, for seniors age 85 and older, the vaccine was more than 94 percent effective at preventing infection, hospitalization, and death.
