It’s time for our annual cruise aboard the Island Queen. Our languid one-hour boat ride around Kensington Lake is both beautiful and serene. The captain explains the history of this state park and also the flora and fauna that populate this area. Residents will have an opportunity to steer the boat, after which we’ll dine on a picnic lunch specially prepared by our chef.

Our residents are experiencing “Pure Michigan” in the truest sense. They’ll have an opportunity to create a Michigan canvas bag, learn the history of the Stroh family while tasting their wares, and see a visual tour of our beautiful lighthouses. This month of Michigan culminates with a luncheon on the 31st including: Dearborn Hot Dogs on Wonder Buns, Better Made Potato Chips, Faygo Red Pop, and the piece de resistance, a Saunders Crème Puff Sundae. This takes place at 11 a.m. and also at 12:30 p.m.

The Vinyl Misst Duo will bring Motown music back for our residents to dance and sing to. During a month of celebrating “Michigan Made” we’ll also play Michigan Trivia while sipping on Boston Coolers, have a cooking demonstration using products native to Michigan, and view Michigan-made movies in our cinema.
