Oakmont Cravings: Frank’s Golumpki

Many of us are enjoying most of our meals at home these days, and with that change comes the challenge of figuring out what we want to cook and eat with our families. This new series we’re calling “Oakmont Cravings” will share with you some of our resident’s recommendations for delicious easy-to-prepare homecooked meals that will bring your family comfort during these uncertain times.

Today’s Oakmont Cravings recipe is brought to us by Frank – a resident of Oakmont Parkway. Frank is quite the cook and has many great recipes to share.

Frank’s Golumpki

  • 1 large cabbage (or two small cabbages)
  • 1 pound of ground pork
  • 1/2 pound of ground beef (not lean)
  • 1 large onion
  • Pepper
  • 2 cans of Campbell’s tomato soup
  • 1 cup of rice

  1. Boil rice until tender and drain
  2. Chop onion, pepper, and combine with meat. Season well.
  3. Wrap tightly in cabbages and place in a dutch oven or oven-safe pot
  4. Cover with tomato soup and cook at 350 for 1 and 1/2 hours
  5. Enjoy with your family

Special thanks to Frank sharing their wonderful recipe with us! Stay tuned for more Oakmont Cravings on our website.

Wedding Bells at Oakmont Parkway for Jeremy and Clare

Though social distancing is in full effect at Oakmont Parkway, nothing could stop grandson Jeremy from sharing his happiness and nuptials with his grandma Joanne on his wedding day.

Jeremy and his new bride, Clare, stopped by the community all dressed up for their big day to show Joanne just how much she means to them. With a sign stating “Hi Grandma – We Love You!” the happy couple was able to include her in their celebration with smiles all around.

From our Oakmont family, we wish Jeremy and Clare a long and happy marriage!
