Oakmont Cravings: Frank’s Golumpki

Many of us are enjoying most of our meals at home these days, and with that change comes the challenge of figuring out what we want to cook and eat with our families. This new series we’re calling “Oakmont Cravings” will share with you some of our resident’s recommendations for delicious easy-to-prepare homecooked meals that will bring your family comfort during these uncertain times.

Today’s Oakmont Cravings recipe is brought to us by Frank – a resident of Oakmont Parkway. Frank is quite the cook and has many great recipes to share.

Wedding Bells at Oakmont Parkway for Jeremy and Clare

Though social distancing is in full effect at Oakmont Parkway, nothing could stop grandson Jeremy from sharing his happiness and nuptials with his grandma Joanne on his wedding day.

Jeremy and his new bride, Clare, stopped by the community all dressed up for their big day to show Joanne just how much she means to them. With a sign stating “Hi Grandma – We Love You!” the happy couple was able to include her in their celebration with smiles all around.

From our Oakmont family, we wish Jeremy and Clare a long and happy marriage!

Oakmont Parkway – Video Chat with Your Loved One!

To Our Residents and Families of Oakmont Parkway:

Though we know that this is a trying time for all of us, our activities department is working hard to find unique ways to connect families, enrich lives, and keep our community engaged. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we will begin scheduling weekly video chats until the temporary preventative lockdown has been lifted.

Beginning this week, families and friends can sign up for private video chats with loved ones inside of our community Monday through Friday via the Google Duo platform. To sign up for a chat, simply send me an email and be sure to include the following information:

  • Your Name
  • Your Google Address
  • Resident Name
  • Timeslot and date you desire to chat

I will be sending out a schedule each week to confirm appointments.

If you’re not a current Google user, signing up for an account is both easy and free. Simply go to duo.google.com or your app store; download the app on your computer, smartphone, or tablet; and create a free account. If you have any additional questions about how to sign-up, please don’t hesitate to email me directly.

As we band together to keep our loved ones safe, our activities department looks forward to helping families stay connected and sharing smiles and stories.

Sincerely,
